Sour Cream And Hamburger Casserole
MEAT MIXTURE 2 pounds lean ground beef 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce 2 cloves garlic, crushed 1 teaspoon sugar 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon pepper
SOUR CREAM/ CREAM CHEESE MIXTURE 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened 1 (8 ounce) carton sour cream 3/4 cup thinly sliced green onions 3 cups cooked egg noodles 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese 1/8 teaspoon paprika Cook ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until meat is browned, stirring to crumble; drain well. Add tomato sauce, crushed garlic, sugar, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Transfer meat mixture to a buttered 13x9x2 inch baking dish. Set aside. Beat cream cheese and sour cream with an electric mixer at low speed until smooth. Add green onions, stirring gently to combine. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over meat mixture. Top with noodles, Sprinkle cheddar cheese over casserole; top with a light sprinkling of paprika. Bake, covered, at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Yields 8 servings.
